A Lasting Legacy: The KTG WEEK 2025 Mural at Thulaganyo Secondary School

During KTG WEEK 2025, Thulaganyo Secondary School was gifted with a beautiful new mural – a vibrant tree that now stretches across one of our school walls. What began as a blank canvas soon transformed into a living artwork, painted with the handprints of every learner who attended the week, our dedicated staff, and the KTG team who made it all possible.

The tree represents growth, unity, and resilience. Like the roots that anchor it and the branches that reach upwards, it reminds us of our shared responsibility to nurture one another and to keep striving for a brighter future. In many ways, this tree echoes the spirit of Mandela Day – a call to action that asks each of us to leave a positive mark on the world, no matter how small. Each handprint on the mural is a promise: a reminder that when we come together, we can create something lasting and beautiful.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to KEEP THAT GOLD SHINING NPC, ETA Operations, and the University of Pretoria’s JCP students for hosting and supporting this event at our lovely school. We are also very grateful to Trevor Beekman from Solarworx for his generosity and professional service in repairing the roof and preparing the wall with undercoat painting. His support ensured that this project had a strong foundation and could become the lasting symbol it is today.

This mural is more than paint on a wall – it is a memory captured in colour. It will stand as a constant reminder, for many years to come, of the power of community, of the importance of education, and of the light we can share with one another when we choose to build together.
